\"PPAO<\/a>Phuket, Thailand, February 18, 2026 \/ TRAVELINDEX \/ The Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization (PPAO)<\/strong>, in collaboration with Phuket Province<\/strong>, officially announced its readiness to organize the annual tribute event<\/em> to Thao Thep Krasattri<\/strong> and Thao Si Sunthon<\/strong> under the title \u201cLight and Sound Historical Drama: Thao Thep Krasattri \u2013 Thao Si Sunthon, along with Cultural Performances and Local Traditions Festival 2026<\/em>.\u201d Held under the theme \u201cPatriotism, Defending the Land, Heroines of Thalang<\/em>,\u201d the event aims to honor and commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of the two heroines and the courageous people of Thalang who protected their homeland. It also provides an opportunity for youth and the public to express gratitude and preserve the invaluable historical heritage of Phuket.<\/p>\n

The press conference was presided over by Mr. Nirat Pongsitthithavorn, Governor of Phuket, together with Mr. Rewat Areerob, President of the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization, Ms. Siriwan Siharaj, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Phuket Office, Mr. Naphatrapol Nollajit, Executive Committee Member of the Thao Thep Krasattri\u2013Thao Si Sunthon Foundation, and Mr. Thanit Prateep Na Thalang, descendant of Ya Chan and Ya Mook. Also joining the event were renowned actresses Hana Lewis, who portrays Ya Chan, and Maggie Apa Bhavilai, who portrays Ya Mook, who will play leading roles in the historical performance. The event, titled \u201cLight and Sound Historical Performance: The Legend of Thao Thep Krasattri and Thao Si Sunthon, along with Local Cultural Activities 2026,\u201d will be held from 13\u201316 March 2026 at the Thalang Victory Memorial, Thep Krasattri Subdistrict, Thalang District, Phuket.<\/p>\n

Mr. Rewat Areerob stated that the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization places great importance on preserving local history and cultural heritage alongside sustainable tourism development. The organization of this historical light and sound show is intended to honor the heroic deeds of the two heroines and the people of Thalang, while also passing on historical knowledge to the public and younger generations, encouraging awareness of Thailand\u2019s heritage and the roots of Phuket.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s presentation, under the concept \u201cYa Chan, Ya Mook, and the Legend of the Nine Heroes of Thalang<\/em>,\u201d reflects bravery, unity, and the multicultural identity of the community. The event is expected to serve as a key mechanism in promoting historical and cultural tourism, as well as stimulating Phuket\u2019s local economy in a tangible way.<\/p>\n

The event will showcase Phuket\u2019s history, local way of life, and cultural heritage through a spectacular light and sound production, along with a variety of cultural activities designed to enhance understanding of Thalang\u2019s historical significance among both Thai and international visitors.<\/p>\n

For the 2026 performance, the show is presented under the concept of honoring and educating audiences about the heroic deeds of Thalang\u2019s ancestors and defenders of the land. Titled \u201cYa Chan, Ya Mook, and the Nine Heroes of Thalang<\/em>,\u201d the performance highlights not only the leadership of the two heroines, Thao Thep Krasattri (Ya Chan) and Thao Si Sunthon (Ya Mook), but also pays tribute to seven additional heroes who fought to defend the land: Phraya Thongphun, Phraya Thalang Thian, Mae Prang, Lady Thong, Phraya Kabat Jui, Mahadlek Niam, and Mr. Thongpheng.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s production stands out through its creative integration of multicultural storytelling with modern stage techniques, including LED screen technology, and a completely redesigned performance format. The aim is to deliver a contemporary cultural experience accessible to audiences of all ages while maintaining historical accuracy.<\/p>\n

In addition to the main performance, the four-day event will feature a wide range of cultural and traditional activities, including cultural performances, local food, and community products from across Phuket, as well as various creative activities for visitors to enjoy.<\/p>\n

The Thao Thep Krasattri \u2013 Thao Si Sunthon Tribute Festival 2026 will take place from 13\u201316 March 2026, starting at 5:00 PM onwards, at the Thalang Victory Memorial (Baan Rieng), Thalang District, Phuket. Admission is free of charge for both local residents and tourists.<\/p>\n
