He will be taking over from Luca Virgilio, who is moving to London in January 2022 as general manager of The Dorchester.<\/p>\n<p>With over 20 years\u2019 experience in luxury hotels and resorts in the UK, Europe and Asia, Italian-born Mirko is currently the hotel manager of The Dorchester, London \u2013 a position he has held for over three years.<\/p>\n<p>Previous roles include executive positions at the Corinthia Hotel, London; Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore; Shangri-La\u2019s Mactan Resort and Spa, Cebu; and Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok.<\/p>\n<p>Mirko has diplomas in hospitality management from the Hotel and Catering International Management Association and Como\u2019s Hotel School of Catering, and has completed both Cornell University\u2019s and Cranfield School of Management\u2019s general manager programmes.<\/p>\n<p>Christopher Cowdray, chief executive officer of Dorchester Collection, said: \u2018We are delighted to promote Mirko to manage one of Rome\u2019s most renowned hotels near the top of the Spanish Steps with its spectacular panorama and authentic Italian charm.
