{"id":1608,"date":"2021-03-15T23:32:17","date_gmt":"2021-03-15T23:32:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/travelcommunication.net\/?p=27197"},"modified":"2021-03-15T23:32:17","modified_gmt":"2021-03-15T23:32:17","slug":"wttc-to-present-womans-initiative-at-global-summit-in-cancun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.top25golfcourses.com\/indonesia\/global-travel-news\/wttc-to-present-womans-initiative-at-global-summit-in-cancun\/","title":{"rendered":"WTTC to Present Woman\u2019s Initiative at Global Summit in Cancun"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div> <a href=\"https:\/\/travelcommunication.net\/more-news\/organizations\/international-organizations\/world-travel-tourism-council-news\/wttc-to-present-womans-initiative-at-global-summit-in-cancun\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"WTTC to present its major womans initiative at its Global Summit in Cancun, Mexico-TRAVELINDEX\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top25golfcourses.com\/indonesia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/wttc-to-present-womans-initiative-at-global-summit-in-cancun.jpg\" alt=\"WTTC to Present Woman&#8217;s Initiative at Global Summit in Cancun\" width=\"500\" height=\"315\" style=\"max-width: 100%; height: auto;\" \/><\/a> <\/div>\n<p>Cancun, Mexico, March 13, 2021 \/ TRAVELINDEX \/ The World Travel &amp; Tourism Council (WTTC), which represents the global Travel &amp; Tourism private sector, is set to present its new \u2018Women Empowerment Initiative\u2019 for travel at its annual Global Summit, which is taking place in April of this year, in Cancun, Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022<a style=\"color: #096b27; font-weight: 600;\" href=\"https:\/\/travelcommunication.net\/category\/more-news\/organizations\/international-organizations\/world-travel-tourism-council-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Read all the latest WTTC News and Press Releases here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The WTTC \u2018Women Empowerment Initiative\u2019 will, through the creation of a Women\u00b4s Travel &amp; Tourism Advisory Group and broad consultation across stakeholders, identify key activities and best practices to support women in universities, in SMEs, entrepreneurs, and in the corporate world across, the entire Travel &amp; Tourism sector.<\/p>\n<p>The group will drive awareness of the current challenges and will lead strategies to work towards an increased representation of women in senior leadership positions within the sector.<\/p>\n<p>The global tourism body will launch its Women Empowerment Declaratory in April at its <strong>Global Summit in Cancun<\/strong>, at which it hopes its 200 private sector Members will join.<\/p>\n<p>Research from WTTC reports has shown that through supporting and promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace, companies can expect to see greater profitability, increased creativity and innovation, and a happier workforce where employees feel free and safe to be who they are. Promoting a diverse workforce is good for business, enables the sector to serve its clients and stakeholders better.<\/p>\n<p>WTTC sees this as an opportunity to ensure a sustainable and inclusive future and believes that if companies make significant investments in building a more inclusive, equitable and diverse workplace, they can retain the employees most affected by today\u2019s crises and nurture a culture in which women have equal opportunity to achieve their potential in the long term.<\/p>\n<p>Gloria Guevara, President &amp; CEO, WTTC said: <em>\u201cI\u2019m so excited to share our plans to announce our Women\u2019s Empowerment Initiative at the Global Summit in April. Travel &amp; Tourism is one of the world\u2019s most diverse sectors and is made up of 54% women, and we are excited to be encouraging women\u2019s empowerment throughout the sector, and I\u2019m very proud that at WTTC we have a majority of our leadership positions occupied by women.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe social impact of Travel &amp; Tourism cannot be understated \u2013 I think there is no denying that this sector helps to create empathy. Empathy is important to me because when there is empathy, there is a greater chance for understanding, peace, and tolerance. It is also a sector with purpose and with a positive social impact. Indeed, two of our most important programs; Guest Assist and Guest Locator, are led by women, Directors of Tourist Care and Information Technologies.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Global Summit will be the first major conference in the \u2018new normal\u2019 of the COVID-19 world and will take place in Cancun, Mexico on 25-27 April.
